Search, and replace.

Howdy Reader!

Going further in your creative journey takes searching.

Searching for those counterproductive activities.

Like:

  • Time-wasting websites.
  • Time-wasting people.
  • Time-wasting thoughts.

Getting rid of those time-wasters isn't enough.

Even if you successfully get rid of them, a vacuum is left behind.

Aristotle said this about vacuums: "Nature abhors a vacuum."

So something will takes its place.

And if you don't plan for what takes its place, it might be just as bad, or worse, as what you just got rid of.

That's why it's best to replace actively.

Instead of going to YouTube, go to Canva.

Instead of accepting that message from a person who's abusing your time, reach out to people who support you.

Instead of brooding over things you can't change, act on what you can.

This won't happen all at once.

But every day you choose something purposefully that moves you forward, you win.

Let's grow together!

~ John

Howdy Reader! In a previous newsletter, I mentioned that videos were getting easier to produce. Just record something, get the pauses out, add some call-outs, and publish. Done, and done. It's not effortless, but it's also not a trial every single day. Once it becomes easier to make the videos, from start to finish ... ... it becomes easier to do it consistently. I've done 13 videos this month already. That's very consistent for me. Everywhere I go, I read and watch about the virtues of...
