Two sides of delegation to keep in mind

Howdy Reader!

My newsletter client reached out to me because he has a lot of work coming in.

A great problem to have, right?

He could write his own newsletter. He's a freelance writer, after all!

But he delegated that part to me, so he could work the higher-value parts of his business.

This leaves us with two sides to delegation.

It's up to him to make sure he's not doing the same amount of work he was before.

If he is, that's not really delegating.

And it's up to me to make sure that I'm saving him time.

If I'm not, why is he paying me?

So delegation is a bit of a two-way street.

And it takes both sides doing their part to make it work.

Let's grow together!

~ John

In How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, he points to his “talent stack” – his unique combination of skills and experiences – as crucial to his success. His...

Howdy Reader! I see this too often on some subreddits I frequent: "Need $200 in 3 days, short on rent" And they're looking to make this passively. Um ... sorry, it doesn't work that way. Maybe flip a few things you find on Facebook Marketplace. But building a passive stream takes time. That's why it's best to start now, rather than when you need the money. Howdy Reader! I was glad to have my daughter home for Thanksgiving. She's a double major in writing and biology. She's set to graduate in 2027. If the headlines I've been reading are true, it's not going to be easy for her to find a job. The path I took to get my job was way different than what she'll need to do, I'm convinced. I'm also convinced that having a following, a community, and a brand will be more important than ever. Being on a creative journey isn't just for career people looking...
